I don’t exactly know how to introduce myself. I confess, I’ve never really had to. I, Cora Vesper, am made up of fragments left behind by other people. I am made of different drafts that somehow turned into a person. Today, I write to get these thoughts out of my head. Some people are made of memories; I am made of questions. I never felt like I would be the solution to someone’s problem or have some magical answer, after all, I’m looking for those answers too.
Right now, I find myself full of scraps, and my letters are living (or written) proof of that. Every sentence, every word, every letter I write is a piece of different versions of myself. That doesn’t make me a person with multiple personalities; quite the opposite, it makes me a person who is growing. I need to write to understand what is happening to me. I can’t be the person in your prayers. I can’t be your answer.
I confess I don’t really know what these letters mean to me. I just know that I need them. There is probably nothing magical behind these stories, but there is certainly something tragic, even if it’s just a comma. My life has always been made up of questions, and I never really knew what to do with them. Now, I put them into letters, but I still don’t know where I’m going. I confess I’m a contradictory person, not because I want to be a hypocrite, but because I understand that this is part of growing. Don’t be surprised if I change my mind quickly.
I still don’t know where I’m going or who I want to become. It’s easier to say what I do know. I hope that, every day, I can understand a little more about who I am and finally answer my questions. Maybe one day, I’ll get close.
To no One,
Cora Vesper.
